The Eleventh Hour 最后一刻

刚刚发现 【梵婗】 中大多数的文章都是在美东时间晚上十一时多上截的。很多推友都知道我每晚都努力尝试半夜十二时前睡觉（当然我一个月都未必有一天能做到），十一时许才交稿，也许代表我是一个 eleventh-hour 的人。

Eleventh hour 是什么意思？时钟上分十二份，由中央上方的12开始算，最后一份是十一时至十二时。所以 the eleventh hour 喻意最后一刻，而 the eleventh-hour chance 则指最后机会。

【例句】

You should not wait till the eleventh hour to draft the speech.
你不应等到最后一刻才起草演讲稿词。

How could I not be nervous?  I will lose the job if I miss this eleventh-hour* chance?
我怎可不紧张？如果我错过这最后机会，我就会失去我的工作。

* 注意：当用作形容词时，两字中间必须加 “-“。
