佩斯大學孔子學院
我的母校佩斯大學 Pace University 一直都很著重關於和中國的連繫，最近學校成立了孔子學院 Confucius Institute。現在世界在吹中國風，在紐約成立中國文化的學院絕對合時宜。

Sleepy (@fayeyl) 在博客《我是清都山水郎》上的文章「功能性文盲或者技术文盲」提到隨著家電的普及和其複雜性增加，很多老人及不喜歡電子科技的人都變成了技術盲，生活不便；相信很多網友都會同意。
同樣地，網絡的功能越來越複雜，很多東西我也得請教他人，那到底我算是 tech-savvy 還是 tech-ignorant 呢？與國內很多翻牆推友相比，我相信我算是 low-tech 一族，不懂建 proxy 或 api，連修改博客一些功能也要救求。但在我的網外圈子中，我算是最 tech-savvy 的一個，很多人 tech-ignorant 得連 Twitter, Skype, ftp 是什麼也不知道。
普通話成北美華埠主流語言
紐約時報 New York Times 今天刊登了一篇文章 “In Chinatown, Sound of the Future Is Mandarin”，說普通話已取代了廣東話成為北美華埠的主流語言。
Cantonese, a dialect from southern China that has dominated the Chinatowns of North America for decades, is being rapidly swept aside by Mandarin, the national language of China and the lingua franca of most of the latest Chinese immigrants.
